德國工業設計之父 Dieter Rams 是20世紀最具影響力的設計師之一。被重視機能導向、以實用為核心的建築和設計主流 Functionalism 所影響，Dieter Rams 將極簡設計理念 — “Less but Better” 視為他設計生涯中最重要的核心概念，先後為 BRAUN 設計出多款外型簡潔俐落而實用的經典產品。
Less But Better | BRAUN by Dieter Rams Exhibition will display a number of classic works designed by Dieter Rams, which are influential in terms of appearance, structure and product design.
Dieter Rams, the German industrial designer who is most closely associated with the consumer products company BRAUN and the furniture company Vitsœ. He is one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. Influenced by Functionalism, a mainstream architectural and design movement that emphasizes functionality and practicality, Dieter Rams regards the minimalist design concept - "Less but Better" as the most important core concept in his design career, and has designed a number of classic products for BRAUN that are simple, neat and practical.
Dieter Rams 所提出的「設計十誡」，不僅歸納了他在擔任 BRAUN 設計總監時的理念，亦被眾多設計師後輩視為設計的至高準則，包括蘋果產品設計師 Jonathan Ive 也曾於訪問中坦言，Apple 的產品如 iMac、iPod 和 iPhone 確實有向 Dieter Rams 的簡約設計與功能典範致敬。
The "Ten Principles of Good design" proposed by Dieter Rams not only summarize his philosophy when he was the design director of BRAUN, but are also regarded as the highest standard of design by many younger designers. Apple designer, Jonathan Ive also admitted in an interview that Apple's products such as iMac, iPod and iPhone do pay tribute to Dieter Rams's model of simple design and functionality.
Dieter Rams 的設計重視讓物件回歸簡單本質 ，有著 “Form follows function” 的設計準則，在色彩上多用黑、白、灰等乾淨中性顏色。他與設計團隊打造出許多經典的產品，例如 BRAUN 的 SK-4 Record Player、TG60 Wandanlage Wall System 和 Vitsœ 606 Shelving System 等都被各地知名博物館永久收藏。
Dieter Rams' designs focus on returning objects to their simple essence, with the design principle of "Form follows function". He mostly uses clean and neutral colors such as black, white, and gray. He and his design team have created many classic products, such as BRAUN's SK-4 Record Player, TG60 Wandanlage Wall System and Vitsœ 606 Shelving System, which are permanently collected by famous museums around the world.
由德國工程師 Max Braun 於1921年創立的德國品牌 - 百靈 BRAUN， 以「進取的思想，創新的產品解決方案，最新技術的開發和使用」為企業核心。於1955年加入 BRAUN 的 Dieter Rams，在其後擔任了品牌的創意總監長達40年，成功奠定了 BRAUN 產品的簡約、實用、而富現代感的風格，更大大影響了近代產品設計的發展。
BRAUN, a German brand founded by German engineer Max Braun in 1921, takes "progressive thinking, innovative product solutions, development and use of the latest technologies" as its core business. Dieter Rams joined BRAUN in 1955 and served as the brand's creative director for 40 years. He successfully established the simple, practical and modern style of BRAUN products and greatly influenced the development of modern product design.
